When I think about other parts of the world, such as Africa, central America, and Southeast Asia, it's not surprising that human trafficking comes to mind. In places of extreme poverty, it's easy to see how it could exist. But in reality, it's happening everywhere. Last year, there was a newspaper article covering the exposure of a trafficking ring just miles from my suburban Massachusetts home. That blew my mind.
